Some youth of the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region, are asking President Mahama to dismiss the District Chief Executive (DCE) for North Tongu, Delpha Fafa Agbai.
They have accused the DCE of non-performance. They also claim she is disrespectful towards some chiefs and party elders in the area. The disgruntled youth led by the Constituency Organizer, says the rapport between them and the DCE has deteriorated and is creating disaffection among party members.
“Her arrogant leadership, disrespect for chiefs and elders of our communities, derogatory language, disregard to party structure, abuse of power, diversion of area council fund and unpalatable comments is affecting the party.”
They also accused her of converting her official residence into a bakery.
Allegations against me untrue – DCE
But speaking to Citi News, the DCE described the accusations as misplaced.
“Her official residence has been turned into a business center where she is personally providing catering services to all assembly programs by selling yoghurt, meat pie, cake, plantain chips and many more which is a great conflict of interest and detrimental to her official work” they argued.
She said she is not surprised the Youth Organizer known as Osama, is spearheading her removal. According to her, she has always refused to succumb to his unnecessary demands. The DCE accused Osama of seeking his parochial interest instead of the interest of the people in the area.
She also dismissed claims that she is not performing and challenged the youth to compare the current developmental projects in the district to the work done by past DCEs.
According to her, there is no community connected to the national grid without streetlights. She added that several schools and health centers have been constructed and water facilities are being provided in most communities under her leadership.
With the issue of turning her official residence into a bakery, Madam Fafa Agbayi said she had her first degree in Home Economics and does the baking as a hobby. she questioned the Organizer’s continuous patronage of her pastries when he knew it was wrong to bake in her residence.
