The Volta Regional Minister, Hellen Adjoa Ntosu, has underscored the need for government to initiate concrete actions geared towards developing the country’s youth to safeguard the nation’s future.
The Minister said investments in quality education, health and job creation, will enhance the intellectual abilities of the youth and make them productive.
This she explained is pivotal in national development since the youth constitute a major source of human capital that holds and drives the social cultural, economic and political development of the country.
Speaking at Ghana’s 59th independence anniversary in Ho on the theme “Investing in the Youth for Ghana’s Transformation”, she said “The theme brings into sharp focus the challenges facing the development of the youth and the need for remedial measures to save the situation in the interest of the nation’s future. When their intellectual abilities coupled with their productive acumen are properly harnessed, it would result in social progress,” she said.
Hellen Ntosu also used the opportunity to educate the citizens on the various policies and initiatives by government to develop the youth and implored them to take advantage of the opportunities.
