The University of Aberdeen, Scotland, has conferred an honorary degree of Doctors of Laws (LLD) on President John Dramani Mahama.
The convocation took place at the University’s Kings College.
President Mahama left Accra on Wednesday for Glasgow, where he met with the First Minister of Scotland, visited the Scottish Parliament to observe the First Minister’s Question Time, and addressed a meeting of Parliamentarians. He also met with leaders of Scotland’s political parties.
He was accompanied by the First Lady, Lordina Dramani Mahama, Foreign Minister Hanna S. Tetteh (MP), Communications Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, and the Education Minister Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman.
President Mahama will be the second Ghanaian leader after former President Jerry John Rawlings to visit Scotland.
The visit provides an opportunity for the two countries to strengthen political and economic relations.
