Hearts of Oak coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi has praised his players for their efforts in the team’s 3-1 win over Bechem United at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians picked up their third win of the season thanks to goals from Sam Yeboah, Mustapha Essuman and Isaac Mensah and the result moved them up to top spot with 10 points.
Speaking after the match, Yatsuhashi indicated that victory was down to the players and what they did on the pitch.
“We did not play too well in the first half but as the match went on, the players made their own adjustments so the credit should go to the players. We made tactical substitutions today to help us. Foovi Aguidi did his best and I think Vincent Atinga was fantastic and Fatau Mohammed did well so I am happy with those substitutions.”
The match saw the Phobians concede their first goal of the season but that was not a surprise to Yatsuhashi.
“I did not think that we were going to have clean sheets all through the season. I knew that the goal against us would come but it was down to a lack of focus and we will work on that. We have ten points from the four matches we have played and I think we are in a good position right now. I will take a look at Inter Allies, who we play next, and I will come up with a plan.”
