A fuel tanker has overturned at Tetegu near Weija on the main Kasoa Highway, forcing drivers and passengers to run for safety.
Citi News‘ Franklin Badu Jnr reports that the driver of the fuel tanker was severely injured.
He further stated that “both sides of the road have been blocked leading to a massive traffic”.
“The decision to block these roads means no vehicle can move from Malam junction towards Accra and vice versa in the next one or two hours” Badu Jnr. added.
Fire fighters have arrived at the scene to prevent a possible explosion and also to clear the mess to allow vehicular flow.
Some passengers who got off the cars in which they were, have resorted to trekking to the other part of the road in the hope of getting another vehicle to continue their journey.
The road in question is a major highway, and one of the busiest and most traffic-prone in the capital.
