Defending league champions AshantiGold and Asante Kotoko played out a goalless draw at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday in a rescheduled Week 2 Ghana Premier League fixture.
The match was postponed due to AshantiGold’s participation in the CAF Champions League against MO Bejaia. Kotoko forward Dauda Mohammed returned to the starting lineup after recovering from an injury to replace Bennett Ofori and he almost got a goal when his shot struck the cross bar after 19 minutes.
The Reds had another chance but it hit the woodwork from the boot of Ahmed Adams.
The Miners also failed to get a goal and it ended up being their second straight draw of the season after registering a blank against Berekum Chelsea last Saturday.
They face Sekondi Hasaacas away from home on Sunday while Kotoko go on the road to face Berekum Chelsea. Kotoko, who are yet to win a match this season, are in 13th place with two points and AshGold are 7th and they have 5 points.
