A 62-year old retired military officer guarding the BACCSOD Credit Union branch on the Bamiri road in Techiman, was found dead on Friday morning in his chair.

The lifeless body of the retired soldier, whose name was given as Sule Wuni, was found when his colleague arrived to relieve him of his shift.

He subsequently reported to the Police who arrived at the scene. The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Holy Family Hospital pending autopsy.

According to the Divisional Police Commander in Techiman, Chief Superintendent Twumasi Ankrah, initial observations indicate that the man may have been hit on the head with a heavy tool which caused his death.

He said his pump action gun was also taken away by the unknown assailants.

But the BACCSOD Credit Union owned by the Catholic Church, was not broken into by the attackers.
