On arrival at the Adugyaman construction site with her entourage, Prof. Opoku-Agyeman was conducted round by the site engineer of Nickseth Construction Company Limited, the contractor, who said they took over the construction work in June 2015, and hoped to complete and hand over the project to the Ministry by the end of July.
He disclosed that apart from the long distance of haulage of some building materials to the site, they had faced no challenge since, adding that the company’s engagement of the services of more than 500 workforce and the provision of a canteen shed on site had made it possible for the construction works to go at a faster pace.
At the Agric Nzema site, Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang and her entourage were conducted round by the yard foreman, who indicated that more than 40 per cent of work had been completed.
He assured the Minister that with the about 100 workers on site and working around the clock, they would be able to meet the date line of completion and handing over.
The Minister commended the two contractors for the quality and levels of work so far done and encouraged both to continue at the same pace whist ensuring quality.
Members of the Minister’s entourage included the Deputy Minister in-charge of Pre-Tertiary, Alex Kyeremeh, the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr Enock Cobbinah, the Director of Pre-Tertiary Education, Madam Rabiana Azara, Mr Michael Inkoom, Director, Secondary Education as well as some senior staff of the Ministry and the Ghana Education Service.
