In about two weeks from today [Monday], the Citi Heritage Caravan will set off for site seeing from the national capital, Accra.
The Heritage Caravan, which was launched in February, forms part of the station’s annual Heritage Month event in Ghana’s birth month, March.
The caravan will travel through eight out of Ghana’s ten regions within one week (from the 7th to the 13th March, 2016).
Tourist destinations
The caravan will make a stopover at the Adaklu Mountains in the Volta region, which is arguably the tallest free-standing mountain in Ghana.
Sightseers will also have the unique opportunity to visit Boabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary.
The Boabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary is Ghana’s most famous example of traditional African conservation. The sanctuary is nestled in between the two villages of Boabeng and Fiema; and is home to over 200 Geoffrey’s Pied Columbus and 500 Campbell’s Mona Monkeys.
You will be thrilled to know that funerals are held for monkeys in Boabeng and Fiema.
You may have heard stories about the beautiful Nzelenzu village in the Western Region but never visited the place.
The CitiFM Heritage Caravan will also take travellers to Nzulenzu where the whole of the village sits on stilt.
In the Central Region, the well-known Cape Coast castle, which is one of the most famous slave “castles, built in 1653 will be our destination.
In the Ashanti region, we will visit the Manhyia Palace Museum.
To make the voyage even more exciting, we have laced it with a Cultural Night, Dinner Dance and a Beach Party.
Your accommodation will be catered for by Citi fm.
