All Educational institutions were also closed down. But in an interview with Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of GES, Rev Jonathan Bettey, announced special classes will be organised for the affected students to catch up on academic work.
According to Rev Bettey, the teachers must also comply with the assist the affected students.
“We sat down with senior house masters and all the headmasters concerned that should anything like this happen, they must go the extra mile in the teaching and learning. They must organise extra classes in order to cover up for the time lost.”
Rev Bettey said the extra classes will not come at any cost to the students.
“The extra classes that we are talking about does not come with any cost. It is something we do anytime some vital time for academic work is lost.”
He also took time to appeal to the rival factions in Bunkpurugu to consider the effects of the conflict on the vulnerable children and urged them to resolve their issues peacefully.
“We are appealing to them to make sure that they consider these things and then solve issues amicably among themselves.”
