The Ghana Education Service, (GES), is expected to release some names of heads of senior high school across the country found to be charging unapproved fees.
Government approved fees for all senior high schools comprising a PTA levy of GH¢52, feeding fee of GH¢308, examination fees, boarding fees and other charges.

An investigative committee set up by the GES to probe the matter further, is yet to come out with its findings.
Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Education Service, Reverend Jonathan Bettey, told Citi News the investigations will determine whether M. Ankomah Simpson will be reinstated or sacked.
“Investigations are still ongoing and we will let you know the measures that Ghana Education Service has finally taken. If he is set free, he will be restored, if he is not, then the consequences will follow” Reverend Bettey said.
He also hinted that some other schools heads could soon be in trouble for the same offense.
“You will be surprised. We have a list of some people who are also part of the issue. The process is ongoing and we will be releasing names of people involved in such behaviour by the end of the week.”
In 2015, nine Head teachers of some basic schools who overcharged the registration fees for Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) were demoted to the rank of teachers.
