Highlife artiste Kwaisey Pee on Wednesday January 27, released the video of his new single ‘Osugyani’, ahead of his Corporate Hangout event in Accra on January 29, 2016.
Osugyani, which means bachelor in the Akan dialect, has a unique appeal despite being a classical highlife tune.
“It’s a typical highlife song fused with some kind of modern chords and touch,” the braided artiste told Abrantepa.com.
Kwaisey Pee, one of Ghana’s young talented contemporary Highlife musicians, otherwise referred to as Mr. ‘Seductive’ for his stylish appearance, silky voice and strong lyrics mostly centered on love, had been quiet for a while until his latest single.

About Kwaisey
Kwaisey Pee Akwasi Opoku aka Kwaisey Pee’s family is noted for music hence his passion did not come as a surprise to many.
Born to a legendary artiste, Agyeiku, he grew up with another Highlife great Rex Omar as a first cousin. His life revolved round playing with various bands like Jewel’s Ackah’s Butterfly Six and Nana Tuffour’s Sikadwa Band, playing at gigs in different parts of the country.
Akwasi Opoku took a trip with his father to the United Kingdom in the late 90s and the experiences there made him take music more seriously than before. Over the past decade, he’s released 3 albums namely ‘Krokro Me’ in 2000, ‘Akono Yaa’ in 2003 and ‘Nyane Me’ in 2006. Nyane Me, which is a 13-track album, featured Tic Tac, Kontihene, K K Fosu, Ofori Amponsah and his father, Agyeiku.
This modernized highlife singer, has been likened to the maestro, Kojo Antwi and he doesn’t mind. “I think Kojo Antwi is a great man,” he says. “It’s good that they are comparing me to him. I take it as a compliment. Who wouldn’t want to be compared to one of the greatest? But at the same time, I would like to be known for me; as Kwaisey Pee” he once said in an interview. From shows in Europe and in the USA, Kwaisey shuttles back and forth Ghana and is currently working on his video.
In 2007, Kwaisey Pee, now in his late 30s was voted Best Male Vocalist at the Ghana Music Awards.
