The warehouse of Unilever Ghana in Tema caught fire on Saturday afternoon.
It is unclear yet the cause of the incident which started around 2:30 pm.
In an interview with journalists after the fire, the Public Relations Officer of Unilever Ghana, Gabriel Opoku Asare, noted that although the affected warehouse houses contain packaging materials used in packaging their finished products, it will not affect productivity.
“It is not going to affect our production so our customers must be rest assured” Mr Opoku Asare noted.
He said they are yet to quantify in monetary terms the items that may have been lost through the fire that lasted for nearly two hours.
He said Unilever will in the coming days access the extent of damage at the warehouse.
He assured their customers not to panic because the company has enough of its products to meet their demands.
Fire service personnel from the Tema Regional Fire Service were at the scene on time to douse the flames with no casualty recorded.
The warehouse houses raw materials and some chemicals used in production.
