Students at the Komenda College of Education in the Central Region, are furious over what they describe as exorbitant school fees and the lack of transparency in the expenditure of their SRC dues
[contextly_sidebar id=”b8LPSTniRqfy4GwkNcOwtYln1f0L8rAj”]The teacher trainees on Friday demonstrated at the college’s campus to demand a reduction in their fees and also the transfer of the college’s bursar.
Citi News’ Central Regional correspondent, Akwasi Korangteng reported that about 400 students of the school chanted words of war and holding placards which read ‘Bursar must go’ ‘Give us the breakdown of our fees.’
A student who spoke to Citi News said: “We need a breakdown of our fees because the fees that we are paying is too much. We can’t pay, our parents are suffering.
“We are pleading with them to give us a breakdown of our fees. It’ too much for us, we are suffering. some of our colleagues are even owing GHc2,000 which is not fair. They should consider us. We are suffering so we really need them to breakdown our fees.”
The Senior Hallmaster of the school, Mr. Kofi Dadzie tried to convince the students to resolve the problem amicably but they refused and wanted to be on the streets of Komenda.
