Head Coach of Spain’s senior football team Vicente Del Bosque has hinted that Atletic Bilbao wonder kid Inaki Williams could be handed a call up ahead of the Euro 2016 tournament.
The 21 year old who has scored 11 times for his club side has been on the radar of the GFA after his impressive performance against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
Williams born to a Ghanaian mother and a Liberian father is still eligible to feature for Ghana having featured for Spain only at the junior level.
The Ghana Football Association have hinted that they are working on a nationality switch which will see Williams feature for the Black Stars with head coach of the team Avram Grant revealing that he was impressed after watching the youngster play.
“There’s also Inaki Williams at Athletic, whom we consider more of a striker than a wing player,” Del Bosque said, in addition to the mention of Alvaro Morata, Iago Aspas, Paco Alcacer, Diego Costa, Imanol Agirretxe, Borja Baston, Lucas Perez and Aritz Aduriz,” Del Bosque said. “He has great speed and is playing with the Spain under-21s.
All of them are in my head and we will call on the ones we think are the most convenient. We will try to bring the best.”
