Despite delays and low turnout, the Organised Labour nationwide demonstration went on successfully in the Volta region.
The protest which was scheduled for 7am on Wednesday morning started around 10am as most workers were not forthcoming.
The organizers however went ahead with the few workers who turned up for the demonstration.
The crowd later built up to about 200 workers during a procession through the principal streets in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.
The protesters finally gathered at the forecourt of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council to present their petition to the Coordinating Director, Alhaji Alhassan for onward submission to the Regional Minister who was not in town.
The Police were present in their numbers to ensure adequate security.
