Fire razed about ten shops at the Roman Hill area in Kumasi’s central business district in the early hours of Friday.
According to an eyewitness, the cause of the fire which started around 2 am is not immediately known.
Personnel from the fire service arrived on the ground to tend to the fire about 20 minutes after it started. 
The shops gutted by the fire contained electronic appliances like refrigerators and television sets.
