Manager of Chelsea left back Baba Rahman, Kurt Okraku, says the player’s stay at the club is not under threat despite the exit of Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho was sacked on Thursday following a poor run of 4 wins in 16 Premier League matches played.
[contextly_sidebar id=”ONKjPQx39oaSSrZ33FaYT6xRwF4Ui3qW”]Rahman was signed by Chelsea for 21.7 million pounds in the summer from Augsburg but with the departure of the Portuguese coach, some observers say that the Ghanaian’s stay at the club could be affected. Kurt Okraku told Citi Sports in an interview that he was confident Rahman would get opportunities with time and through hardwork.
“I am the player’s guardian and I know in my heart that this is his first season at the club. We need to be modest with our expectations. He knows he must work very hard at the club to get his opportunity. If he gets between 15 and 20 matches this season, I will be happy. When he signed in the summer, we knew that there would be challenges. We knew that there were top stars in the team and that Rahman needed to be serious with his work.”
Rahman has played five matches played across all competitions this season for Chelsea.
