[contextly_sidebar id=”zbTddvkXCwellPZU0BhHismQrBhT9ceH”]This special registration exercise by the National Health Insurance Scheme, is to provide access to free health care for vulnerable groups in society.
In partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, the project covers pregnant women, pupils in orphanages and special schools as well as beneficiaries of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) Programme.
The gesture has however been extended to school children benefiting from the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), free school uniform interventions as well as other government interventions.
In an interview with citifmonline.com, the District Manager of the South Dayi District Health Insurance Scheme, Mr. Mawuko Tsiigbey, said the scheme has commenced registering pupils in the district.
He said buses were made available to convey pupils in batches, to the scheme’s secretariat for instant registration.
He appealed to parents and teachers in the district to make the children available for the registration.
