The Eastern Regional Police Command says it is investigating circumstances under which a student of the All Nations University in the Eastern Region allegedly fell to his death on campus.
This is the second time a student of the school has fallen to his death this year.
Details on how the 17 year old oil and gas first year student fell are scanty, but reports suggest he died shortly after he was rushed to the hospital.
The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police, ASP Nketia Yeboah told Citi News the service is yet to receive expert advice to conclude investigations to ascertain the exact cause of death.
“…what is very important is that investigation is yet to prove that he fell from that height. We are yet to receive other expert advice. We are still on preliminary investigations”, he said.
He however cautioned the two incidents should not be linked because they both happened at different venues.
“This incident happened at the main campus in Koforidua. The one that happened early this year also happened at the All Nations University but at the old site, on the Suhum road”, he stressed.
According to him, police investigations after the first incident “revealed lots of security breaches”. However, the school’s management “was taken to task and the necessary improvements were made”.
