The Perez Chapel International, under the leadership of Bishop Charles Agyinasare, has acquired the Pan African Christian University College in the Central Region.
The Pan African Christian University College – the first accredited private University College in that region – will now be known as the Perez University College after the acquisition on November 15, 2015.
The institution and its two schools are duly accredited by the National Accreditation Board of Ghana since 2007.
The School of Theology has affiliation with the Trinity Theological Seminary (TTS) and the School of Business is affiliated to the University of Cape Coast.
These mentor institutions have the responsibility for overseeing the courses, training and certification of the respective schools.
The Presiding Bishop and now Chancellor of the University Bishop Agyin Asare formally informed the congregation about the acquisition during service.
He stated that the leadership was working around the clock to ensure that within five years the school would become a force to reckon with.
The Presiding Bishop and a team from Perez Chapel International were on the school’s premises mid-November when Bishop Mills from the Church of God, USA introduced them to the staff of the school as the new owners of Pan African Christian University College.
To ensure a commitment to academic excellence, Perez Chapel has put together a Board of Governors made up of distinguished and accomplished individuals to oversee the running of the University.
Board of directors
Members of the Board are: Dr Charles Agyinasare, Dr Mensa Otabil, Professor Omane-Antwi, Professor Asamoah Gyadu, Professor Addo Obeng, Dr Kotei Dzani, Mr. Francis Ashinyo, Honourable Sylvester Mensah, Dr Mrs Vivian Amoako, Dr Emmanuel Saboro, Professor Amoa Awua, Bishop Dr Prince Baah and Lawyer Mrs Grace Dolphy.
The University is now located at Gomoa Pomadze-Winneba, along the Winneba-Swedru highway, about a kilometer from Winneba roundabout (Junction). Despite its close proximity to Winneba of the Effutu Municipality, it administratively falls under the Gomoa East District Assembly. The plan is to add on other campuses in the coming years.
Founded in March 1987 in Tamale, the Northern regional capital of Ghana, Perez Chapel International is currently headquartered in Accra. The founders, Most Rev. Dr Charles Agyin Asare and Rev. Mrs Vivian Agyinasare are also the senior pastors of the church’s Perez Dome, said to be the largest auditorium in Ghana. This acquisition was made for Perez College, which used to be Perez Chapel’s Bible School.
Formerly known as World Miracle Ministerial College (WMMC), the Bible College was started in September 1992 in Tamale by Bishop Agyinasare, and was later renamed Miracle Ministerial College (MMC) when it was relocated to Accra in 1994.
In 2013, the institution’s name was changed to Perez College (when the Church’s name was changed to Perez Chapel International) and authorized by the National Accreditation Board.
