Kumasi Mayor, Kojo Bonsu, has assured residents of the Kumasi Metropolis that there would be adequate security during the yuletide. The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, he said, is working closely with the Ashanti Regional Police Command to the safety of lives and property.
The KMA Chief Executive made this known at the Night of Nine Lessons and Carols, organized by the KMA.
The Kumasi Metropolis records several robbery cases despite the continuous efforts of the police in arresting and prosecuting criminals.

The police with ablesupport from the military are on the ground and on high alert; and measures are in place to guarantee the safety and security of our citizens during and after this period.”
He urged residents to be concerned about keeping a clean environment whiles being conscious of their personal safety during the period.
“As we celebrate the yuletide, let us endeavor to keep our environment clean and also not neglect our security and general wellbeing.”
According to the Mayor, the KMA’s Night of Nine Lessons and Carols event, was to “usher in the birth of Christ”.
He added that, the event, the 2nd of its kind, “offers an opportunity for the assembly to interact with all stakeholders and the good people of Kumasi.”
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Peter Anerfi, on his part asked residents to remain united during and after the festivities in their efforts to contribute their quota to national development.
“We should all resolve to have a new sense of renewal towards unity, peace and commitment towards building a prosperous nation. We should not lose sight of the fact that, another side of the season is often characterized by lawlessness and all manner of antisocial activities, it is therefore important for us to comport ourselves in a manner that will not sway us away from the right side of the law. We should try as much as possible to avoid any situation that will compromise the joy of the season.”
