PHD Worldwide announced the appointment of Ben Samuel from Google to a newly created role of Marketing Technology Director, responsible for helping the network advice clients on how to build out their marketing technology platforms.
In a news release sent out to management and staff globally, PHD’s Worldwide CEO Mike Cooper, acknowledged that “clients are increasing looking for guidance on how to navigate the ever more complicated world of media technology and how to stack those technologies together for best performance. In Ben we have found someone who will make things as simple and accessible as possible to help clients grow and transform their business”.
“Ben will be advising our existing clients as well as providing leadership on the subject of marketing technology to the network.
He will also work closely with Annalect, the data solutions arm of OMG, acting as a bridge between PHD and Annalect” he outlined.
Industry news and analyses publication Campaign magazine quoted Ben Samuel as saying: “A few years ago media technology was not something high on marketing director’s agendas. In today’s programmatic and data-driven world, with near-constant evolution in the way digital is bought, it’s an ever more important consideration. These technologies – and more importantly how they are stacked together – can improve the efficiency of marketing investment.”
At Google, Ben was head of platforms for agencies, based in Sydney, and is a digital leader with more than 10 years’ experience in the management of digital media technology, having worked with agencies, publishers and marketers. His expertise spans key media technology that includes adserving, digital measurement, programmatic buying, rich media and search technology.
