Ghana and SIPG forward Asamoah Gyan says he is satisfied with himself after his first season in the Chinese Super League.
Gyan is in the country after the Chinese League ended a few weeks ago with his team, SIPG, finishing second.
Gyan’s output of four goals in ten matches pleases him especially as he joined from Al-Ain when lacked full fitness.
“I would say that the season went alright for me. I was at about 20 percent in terms of fitness. I tried my best to help the team with my abilities. The season was good but I must admit that I was fortunate especially looking at my fitness. The injuries slowed me down a bit but I thank God I am fine.”
Gyan scored against Tianjin Teda, Chongqing Lifan, Henan Jianye, and Shanghai Shenhua in the season and he helped SIPG get 65 points from the 30 matches played. SIPG have qualified for the next year’s edition of the Asian Champions League.
