Inundated with floods, poor sanitary conditions, and other challenges over the years, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has slipped from 35th to 37th position, in the latest Ghana District League Table for 2015.
Many stakeholders have expressed concerns about the poor state of many urban areas in Accra.

Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), which is one of the biggest in the country, however improved from 160th position in 2014 to 71st position.
All the 216 districts in the country were ranked.
Tema topped the list while Gomoa was at the bottom.
The District League Table was put together by UNICEF and CDD Ghana, which uses 6 key sector indicators from – health, education, sanitation, water, governance and security – to compile a single score for each district.
With the latest ranking, it is possible to track which districts are doing well in Ghana and which ones are struggling and need to improve.
