The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Awutu Senya West constituency , George Andah, has in a direct response to the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency, Hanna Tetteh’s claims that he is a novice, stated that his competence will give him the edge over his opponent in the 2016 elections.
Hanna Tetteh, who will be facing George Andah in the 2016 parliamentary elections, told Citi News that Mr. Andah lacks the experience to unseat her.
[contextly_sidebar id=”J0YvadEtmiGQmvtFmHISqfZtwXPgHKdF”]“Who is George? You are talking as if he is some political heavyweight. This is someone who has not contested elections before, who has never been in the political space before and I am supposed to be afraid of him?” she questioned.
“I am the Foreign Minister, I have been Minister of Trade and Industry and I have won this seat twice and I have won an overwhelming mandate in the primaries and I am supposed to be afraid of someone who is, even if you want to be charitable, a novice. You are the people making George Andah somebody, I do not consider him a threat,” she said.
An obviously infuriated George Andah in a statement responded to Madam Tetteh, stating that the constituents of Awutu Senya West will vote for someone who will serve the community rather than one who will only tout achievements.
“It is not about how big and influential you are. It is about service to God and country. It’s about respect for the people, their development. We go to school so we can give back to society one day and help the less privileged and not prove to them how intelligent and superior we are when we are in a position of authority.”
“The electorate of ASW are very discerning and they have said they will vote for change instead of voting for arrogance. The 2016 election in ASW is not going to be about ‘heavy weights’, It is not going to be about who is ‘prettier’ and or less ‘handsome. It’s not going to be about deceiving the electorate with last minute projects and using money to buy votes just to win the election and abandon the people.”
Mr. Andah noted that he will work closely with the youth to transform the constituency.
“Election 2016 in ASW for is going to be all about the people of Awutu Senya West. It’s going to be about working hard and smart with the youth, uniting the constituency, listening and with the right messages and most importantly putting the electorate at the heart of everything we do. We know that with God on our side, we will give Awutu Senya West the change and power to do more that is most deserved.”
