Citizen Vigilante, Martin Amidu has written a letter to investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas challenging him to a live radio debate on Citi FM on Monday November 16.
According to Amidu, if the challenge is accepted, Anas should not be hooded during the debate.
[contextly_sidebar id=”K7q1mhRev2MhvTnJfoDlkZzZzaofiUYm”]“No lawyers or other experts will be allowed to join in the debate. The hood should only be removed in the studio in the presence of only the presenter, myself and him so the likelihood that I wish to expose his face to the public will not arise,” the letter added.
He explained that “I have no reason to be hooded even though I know the Government would rather I were dead and it will be unfair for me to debate someone whose face I cannot see in order to assess his demeanour for credibility, uneasiness and truthfulness.”
The former Attorney General, Martin Amidu has over the last week made several accusations against Anas.
Mr. Amidu claimed that Anas’ was commissioned by government to unravel rot in the judiciary but has suppressed part of the video to shield some of the judges allegedly caught taking bribes.
Mr. Amidu has also accused Anas’ Tigereye PI company of not being duly registered according to the laws of Ghana hence operating fraudulently in the country.
Anas’ boss and Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has confirmed the letter.
Below is the full letter:
NECESSITY FOR FACE TO FACE DEBATE BETWEEN MARTIN AMIDU AND ANAS AREMEYAW ANAS
I, Martin A. B. K. Amidu is willing to engage Anas Aremeyaw Anas in a direct debate at his announced appearance on Citi FM or Joy FM or Starr FM on condition that he would not be hooded and would come along with his company registration and regulations for Tiger Eye PI: Private Investigation Agency In Ghana or Tiger Eye PI Limited as his lawyer now claims and his license or licenses to operate a private or private investigations organization under Sections 1 and 5 of the Police Service (Private Security Organizations) Regulations, 1992 (LI 1517).
It will be important for him to produce the Regulations of Tiger Eye PI Media Limited and his license and permits under LI 1517. It is also important that the public hear both of us at the same forum and determine the merits of each of our cases. I have no reason to be hooded even though I know the Government would rather I were dead and it will be unfair for me to debate someone whose face I cannot see in order to assess his demeanour for credibility, uneasiness and truthfulness.
No lawyers or other experts will be allowed to join in the debate. The hood should only be removed in the studio in the presence of only the presenter, myself and him so the likelihood that I wish to expose his face to the public will not arise.
