VI Music says it will release the first single of the much-awaited EP [Extended play] of its first artiste, internet sensation Adomaa, on Monday, November 30.
A television premiere of the single’s official lyric video will be aired on TV3’s ‘New Day’ at 8.30am, with the radio premiere on Live FM.
The single will subsequently be made available online for free streaming and downloads, with an official music video slated for release in 2016.
Traffic Jam is the first release of Adomaa’s first full original project, Afraba the EP, which is scheduled for release in January 2016.
It is a groovy, feel-good song with a Fela Kuti-influenced afrobeat rhythm, and is intended to provide a little relief from the pressures of life with its positive message, very relatable verses and catchy hook.
Adomaa has a lot of fun on this track, and hopes to translate her uncomplicated perspective and appreciation for the simple things of life to listeners in down-to-earth lyrics that are a mix of Pidgin, English, Twi and Yoruba. It is produced by Reynolds ‘The Gentleman,’ who is also the overall producer of the EP, with live instrumentation provided by the versatile band Fra!, also signed to VI Music.
