This weekend, fans of Vodafone’s flagship musical talent show, Vodafone Icons, will get the opportunity to witness the zonal auditions on television for the first time.

Touted as the most anticipated music reality show in Ghana, this year’s edition has been dubbed “Vodafone Icons: High School edition” to revive the passion and commitment in the country’s secondary schools.

As part of the auditions, the country was divided into three zones – Northern, Middle and Southern – to give every school a chance to compete.

To date, auditions for all the zones – Northern, Middle and Southern – have been concluded and the official unveiling of the qualified schools would be reflected on the TV screens this weekend.

Commenting, Agnes Emefa Essah, Director of Marketing at Vodafone Ghana, said:

“Once again, we have another chance to empower the youth of this country through music and we are excited to be leading the way. So far the auditions for two zones – northern and middle – have been concluded and the general public are getting a chance to view them this weekend. This year’s edition has the ability to surpass all expectations and already, the enthusiasm exhibited by the High Schools says it all. I also want to commend the Ghana Education Service for its commitment and passion for the event.”

The first show will air on TV3, Metro TV and 4syte TV at 5pm and 7pm respectively on Saturday October 10th, 2015, and on Multi TV, GHOne and Viasat1 at 5:30pm, 7pm and 8:30pm respectively on Sunday October 11th, 2015.

The winning school for this year’s event will be presented with a music studio and also represent Ghana at the global high school musical contest organised by Vodafone in Turkey.

There would also be consolation prizes for other finalists.
