The University of Ghana has been placed in the band of 601- 800 institutions worldwide, according to a release by the Times Higher Education (THE) World Rankings.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are generated from five pillars, each of which represents a key area of higher education excellence – teaching (the learning environment), research (volume, income and reputation), citations (research influence), industry income (knowledge transfer), and international outlook (staff, students and research).
For a University keen on enhancing internationalization, it is welcome news that the University of Ghana’s strongest pillar was International Outlook where its was ranked in the 5th decile.
In June this year, the Thompson Reuters rankings placed the University of Ghana at the tenth position among tertiary institution on the African continent.
The continued upward mobility of the University of Ghana in world rankings is an attestation of the University’s quest to become a world-class research intensive university over the next decade.
