As the race for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary primaries for the Klottey Korle constituency draws closer, one of the NDC hopefuls has withdrawn from the contest.
Samuel Constant Kwaku says he dropped out to support the daughter of former President Rawlings, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings who is one of the aspirants.
[contextly_sidebar id=”RnszxSNpS2WCMozMIA4BkU27Z66IlHUU”]”…I am backing down to give my support to Dr. Zanetor Rawlings. She is a youth, we are of the same message and I see the responsibility that lies on her, that same responsibility lies on me as a youth.”
He added that since his message of change is in line with that of Dr. Rawlings, he had to back down to support her.
“My message and Dr. Zanetor’s message are likely the same. I am asking the youth to get on board so that we build together; let’s take the mantle upon ourselves, let’s do something that will benefit the youth at large…”
He told Citi News Dr. Zanetor is the best person to effect the change the people of Klottey Korle need.
Zanetor will now have to face her main contender and the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency, Nii Armah Ashitey in the primaries.
She will have to battle the New Patriotic Party’s Nii Noi Nortey in the 2016 elections if she is given the nod to contest in the local polls.
