A fully loaded fuel tanker on the Konongo Kumasi road on Wednesday caught fire while on its way to distribute its load.
The tanker is said to have lost balance, skidded off the road and went up in flames.
An eyewitness, Derek Laryea told citifmonline.com the fire Service team from Konongo came in swiftly to quench the fire and to prevent further spread and casualties.
He said the incident caused huge traffic on the road because the tanker in the process blocked a section of the road.
Derek Laryea added that most of the drivers packed their vehicles far from the accident site to catch a glimpse of scene.
Though the cause of the accident is yet unknown, some have attributed it to bad weather because it was raining.
