[Audio] Calvis Hammond releases hotly anticipated single ‘None Like You’

The music director for Joyful Way Incorporated, Calvis Hammond, has released his debut single titled; ‘None Like You.’

The song which was released on October 1, 2015 has been greatly received by social media users and the general public.

‘None Like You’ was co-written by Calvis and his wife, Nana Esi Hammond. His 3-year-old daughter, Jodie Hammond is also featured on the song.

Explaining the genesis of the song in a post on his Facebook page, Calvis Hammond who is also an Analysis Manager eProcess International of the Ecobank Group, stated that his wife, Nana Esi Hammond wrote and composed the verse for ‪None Like You about 3 years ago after enduring some traumatic circumstances “and gave it to me as gift.”

“I added one line p3, the chorus. And that qualified me to be co-writer/composer,” he said.

Hammond continued saying, “I was at a prayer meeting at Joyful Way, that one line chorus kept ringing in my head so clearly. I went to hide behind our bus to record it as I had lost many songs by not recording (don’t try this at church).”

“It was only a few weeks after while I was working that I would discover that it was the chorus for that song Kate wrote 3 years ago. I did a voice note of the verse and chorus together and sent to her, she was shocked. I sent to my ‘boys’ and that was the beginning…”

Pastor Helen Yawson, a gospel singer and songwriter had these words to say about ‘None Like You’:

“Wow! I can hear it live on stage, it lends itself to a live performance. WELLDONE, I can see a lot of work has gone into it. It’s a song that is calling for the audience to join in and worship, and it will always have room for you to express worship, it doesn’t box you into one particular expression, it’s open, which is very good, when you are ministering live. Voices are great too. …. Love the classical vocals at the start of the song. I am sure it will do well. It’s also simple and easy to sing. WELLDONE!”
