Union savings and loans has been awarded the Emerging Brand of the year under the product category by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG).
The company’s market share has grown by 373% between 2013 and 2014 from 1.68% in 2013 to 6.60% in 2014; this is not withstanding the total industry growth of 20.6 %.
Speaking to Citi Business News after receiving the award, the Chief Executive of Union Savings and Loans Philip Oti Mensah said, “we planned it, we worked towards it and we won it. We thank God and I want to say this is for the staff, they’ve worked so hard towards this and I want to appreciate their efforts.”
In the citation accompanying the award to Union Savings and Loans, CIMG stated that, “you embarked on a restructuring exercise in 2013 after which you decided to provide rapid and suitable deposit for SMEs transaction and lending services to individuals and businesses through high and quality service satisfied employees and modern technology.”
“You have left no stone unturned thereafter in ensuring you become the facility of choice when the customer thinks of savings and loans.”
