A total of 120 aspirants have filed their nominations to contest the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) November 7 Parliamentary primaries in the Northern Region.
Only four are female and the incumbent Members of Parliament for Damongo, Adam Mutawakil and Wulensi, Maban George Laliri are going unopposed.
Bimbila and Bunkprugu constituencies recorded the highest number of aspirants with 10 each.
Five District Chief Executives including Alhassan Fuseini of Gushiegu, Jaspa Moye of Kpandai and the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba DCE, Issac Dramani are in the race.
Radio Gold’s Alhassan Suhuyini is battling with the constituency Secretary, Mohammed Abdul Salam and five others in the Tamale north constituency.
Alhassan Suhuyini at a mammoth rally thanked his supporters for the enthusiasm attached to his Parliamentary ambition.
He advised them to desist from activities likely to create confusion in the NDC after the primaries.
Alhassan Suhuyini acknowledged the participation of other party bigwigs in the race and assured them of decent campaigns.
He promised to make the NDC attractive to floating voters as means of maximizing the party’s electoral fortunes in the 2016.
