Coup leaders in Burkina Faso say they have released the country’s interim president, Michel Kafando.
Michel Kafando had been detained along with the Prime Minister, Isaac Zida and two other ministers.
A statement from them said “as a sign of easing tensions and in the general interest, the National Council for Democracy has decided on the release of ministers and Michel Kafando.”
The statement added that Kafando was released on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is currently under house arrest.
