Ghana’s Jordan Yamoah won silver in the men’s pole vault event in the ongoing All Africa Games in Congo.
Yamoah cleared a height of 5.20m to finish second behind Algeria’s Cherabi Hichem Khalil who vaulted a height of 5.25m.
Ghana won the bronze medal in the men’s 4 x 100 m relay event in a time of 39.71 seconds.
Ghana’s quartet was made up of Daniel Gyasi, Solomon Afful, Emmanuel Dasor, and Shepard Agbeko.
The race was won by Cote d’Ivoire in a time of 38.93 with Namibia coming second after they clocked 39.22 seconds.
Julia Agawu won bronze in the women’s discuss with a throw of 49.08 m. Janet Amponsah and Dorcas Gyimah both qualified for the second round of the women’s 200m event.
Amponsah ran a time of 23.72 seconds while Gyimah recorded a time of 24.44 seconds.
Ghana also qualified for the second round of men’s 4 x 400m event in a time of 3:08:23. So far, Ghana has won 13 medals at the All Africa Games.
