An aspirant Philip Addison, in protest of the decision by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to hold the primary in the Klottey Korle constituency has dared the police to “shoot everybody” who tries to prevent the election from going ahead if they can.
NPP supporters, believed to be sympathisers of Addison marched in protest of the elections, causing some disturbances.
The police have been able to calm down the situation and voting is underway at the party’s headquarters.
The media has been barred from entering the voting center and delegates are only allowed to enter to cast their ballot.
Addison, issued a call the group which had rallied in support of the lawyer asking them to “make sure nobody goes to the voting center to vote.”
“Let the police shoot everybody,” said Lawyer Addison
Reports indicate that Philip Addison has since left the party’s headquarters, declaring that he “did not feel part of the process.”
