KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has started operating daily flights of its new Boeing 777-200 between Accra and Amsterdam, with a fully renovated cabin interior in both World Business Class and Economy Class.
To celebrate the launch of the daily product, KLM Ghana is offering a promotional discount of USD 777 to all customers purchasing their ticket for KLM’s World Business Class services to destinations in Europe, the USA and Canada beginning from August 15 to September 7, 2015.
The new Economy Class seats, designed by Hella Jongerius, offer travelers more legroom and a whole new in-flight entertainment system, featuring a larger 9-inch, HD-quality touch screen, interactive 3D cards and a ‘seat chat’ app that allows travelers to communicate with passengers who are seated elsewhere in the cabin.
Other key improvement is that the new seats are the lightest in their class. Less weight means lower fuel consumption and, hence, lower CO2 emissions.
The introduction of the new in-flight entertainment system in both Business and Economy Class offers enough diversion for a trip around the globe and beyond – together with travel companions, in the company of fellow passengers or individually.
On the new World Business Class on the Boeing 777-200 revolves around the new full-flat seat which is 2.07 meters long.
The positioning of the new seats in the cabin and various other smart design elements ensure maximum privacy while sleeping or working.
The pallet of warm colors – that differ per seat – and plenty of storage space ensure greater comfort and more personal space for passengers.
The bigger soft cushions combined with the luxurious new blankets ensure a warm and friendly atmosphere in the new World Business Class.
The 17-inch screen, operated with a touch screen handset, adds to the luxurious Business Class experience.
Further, passengers have a dual-screen option that allows them to watch a movie and simultaneously play a game or chat. Today, 10 out of 15 aircraft of this type in KLM’s fleet have been refurbished.
The Amsterdam – Accra – Amsterdam route has been specially selected to have this new refitted product on a daily basis from August 17th and onwards. The 15 Boeing 777-200 will all be equipped with both new cabins by the end of 2015.
Speaking to Citi Business, News Regional Manager Ghana KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Axel Metselaar said that KLM’s business class offers more comfort and privacy than other airlines servicing Europe and North America from Accra.
The seat he said converts into a comfortable bed with a total length of 2.07 meters, the largest bed in the air in the market.
And as to the in-flight entertainment screen, KLM’s 17 inch screen is the largest HD-screen available ensuring that Privacy is increased by the way the seats are positioned and by the privacy screen in between the seats.
