The 2015 edition of Citi FM’s annual corporate sports gathering, Citi Business Olympics, has been launched with a promise to thrill participants to an exciting mix of fun, excitement and camaraderie.
The event, scheduled for Saturday 19th September 2015 at the Burma Camp Leisure Centre in Accra, will bring together over 30 corporate bodies within the Greater Accra and Tema metropolises. The companies will compete for trophies and a year’s worth of bragging rights.
Speaking during the launch on the Citi Breakfast Show, Operations Manager of Citi FM, Philip Kofi Ashon said this year’s event is packaged to be both exciting and competitive.
“Each year we go a notch higher with the Citi Business Olympics and this year’s edition promises to be more exciting. We have introduced some new competitive games and have now included an exciting new challenge that we call, the ‘Citi Business Olympics Challenge’ or the #CBOChallenge.
“Companies will be engaged in this social media campaign and will demonstrate their diversity and competitive spirit in three main activities before the main event on September 19. These challenges will be recorded and shared on our various social media platforms. The general public will have the chance to engage with these videos and the company with the most engagement by September 19 wins.”
The company with the most trophies from last year and partners for this year’s competition, City Investments Company, are keen on keeping their trophies and bragging rights. The other companies, according to intelligence gathered, are mapping out strategies to cause upsets by beating previous winners in the various disciplines.
The competitive games for this year’s event include 7-a-side soccer, 50 metre dash, lawn tennis, table tennis, arm wrestling, scrabble, volley, swimming, tug of war, basketball, chess and the lime and spoon race.
Participants would also enjoy the non-competitive games including cards, draughts, oware and ludo.
Companies can register by calling 0302226013 or log onto citifmonline.com for more details.
The Business Olympics is powered by 97.3 Citi FM and the City Investments Company and sponsored by DJ Drinks from Ramani Distributions and Jara.
