The 37th manual and 11th e-payment cycle of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program will start from today to Friday.
[contextly_sidebar id=”F8UhPtCMdg3OUGz7Fdz92xGimOa6FLuw”]Over ninety thousand beneficiary households in 144 districts are expected to be paid their benefits.
The breakdown of the payment is as follows: one member household will receive forty-eight Cedis, household with two eligible members receive sixty Cedis, household with three eligible beneficiaries gets seventy-two Cedis and a household with four (4) eligible beneficiaries or more receives ninety Cedis.
These payments cover the months of May and June, 2015.
Currently there are two mechanisms of payment-the manual and electronic payments. The manual payments are made by Ghana Post Company Limited whereas the e-payments are done by MTN mobile money, GhIPSS (ezwich) and AYA Technologies.
The payment will be monitored by officials of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection as well as the Department of Social Welfare.
In a related development, victims of the June 3 flood and fire disaster will start receiving their cash transfers under the 3.9 million Ghana cedi emergency LEAP programme from Friday.
