Suspicious about the cause of the smell, an alarm was raised.
A search was conducted leading to the discovery of the lifeless body of little Rufeda who was wrapped in a bag inside the septic tank.
Mr. Asani Yaw, in an interview with Citi News expressed worry over the incident and suspected that his daughter was killed for ritual purposes.
“My daughter couldn’t have entered by herself. Those who killed her came and dump her here so that people will not see,” he said in tears.
Meanwhile personnel of the Ghana Police Service came to retrieve the almost decomposed body for examination.
ASP Joy Afagbadze, Upper West Police Public Relations Officer said “circumstantially, suspect foul play. This is a place that has been walled and one does not need to be told that the girl has been murdered”.
He promised that his men will do everything possible to apprehend the perpetrators.
