The Founder and flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor has fired back at her critics saying, she accompanied the President to Italy because she wields more power than some Ministers of State.
In an interview with Citi News, Akua Donkor said: “I am truthful, I am knowledgeable, and that is why he took me.”

Akua Donkor was spotted among the entourage of President John Mahama who was on a working visit to Italy last week.
Madam Donkor was seen with the President in the photos published by the Flagstaff House Communication Bureau.
She was present at the Ghana Day at the Milan Expo 2015 and also at the Rodolfi Pomodoro A Parma Tomato Processing Plant.
There has since been a backlash over her inclusion in the President’s entourage to Italy.
But Akua Donkor insists her position can be likened to a President.
“President appoints a minister. My position is like a President. So if he is traveling and he takes me along, there is nothing wrong with it.”
“He knows I have no evil intention. God knows I speak the truth.”
