Government has responded to the 47% grade awarded it by IMANI Ghana after assessing the promises it made in it’s party manifesto, saying, it is “deeply flawed.”
A statement signed by the Deputy Communications Minister, Felix Kwakye-Ofosu said IMANI’s verdict is not a true representation of the achievements of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
It pointed out that an examination of IMANI’s presentation “reveals deep flaws in the approach, methodology and ultimately the outcome.”
[contextly_sidebar id=”nlavglrqLRf3BlnBYKKUO1AHbhEFqSFd”]IMANI boss, Franklin Cudjoe clarified that it was a progress report and not the overall representation of the work done by the NDC government.
Government has however accused IMANI of failing to adequately engage government agencies which would have granted them access to all the information and data required to help them “do a comprehensive and thorough assessment of progress on our manifesto commitments.”
According to the Deputy Minister, it appears IMANI only relied on “a fraction of information on what we have done in fulfillment of our manifesto promises.”
“The results as put out by IMANI therefore tell only a minute part of the story,” he added.
We’re open to scrutiny
Mr. Kwakye-Ofosu stated that the Mahama-led government is prepared for a “holistic and comprehensive scrutiny of our work as government.”
“As a general principle, we welcome any effort that enables Ghanaians to scrutinize the discharge of the mandate that they bestowed on us in the 2012 elections. This is in tandem with the fourth pillar of our 2012 manifesto; “Transparent and Accountable Governance.”
He therefore encouraged all organisations seeking to do so to avail themselves to have access to of all relevant information to ensure balance and accuracy in their results.
