After 10 years at the helm of E! News, Giuliana Rancic has decided to jump ship.
The TV personality is stepping down from her position as anchor of the celebrity news mainstay,E! reports. She will, however, continue as a host of Fashion Police and E!’s live red carpet coverage of major awards shows.
“For more than a decade, I was fortunate enough to play a role in the success of E! News and will miss my family at the show,” Rancic, 40, said in a statement.
“At the same time, I am excited to not only continue as host of two major franchises on E! but also executive produce the aspirational new show Rich in Faith for Oxygen as well as take my wine and clothing lines to the next level. This is such a thrilling time for me and I thank the gang at E! for understanding my desire to embark on this next chapter in my life.”
Between the death of longtime Fashion Police cohost Joan Rivers and the controversy sparked by remarks Rancic made on the show about Zendaya Coleman’s dreadlocks, which she accused of smelling like “patchouli” or “weed”, E! and Rancic have had a fairly tumultuous 2015.
Longtime Fashion Police cohost Kelly Osbourne decamped from the franchise following the dreadlocks incident. The series was rocked further when Rivers’ replacement, Kathy Griffin, left after just seven episodes.
Another revamped version of Fashion Police, featuring Melissa Rivers and Brad Goreski as well as Rancic, is scheduled to premiere Aug. 31.
