The Ghana National Gas Company is set to pay-out another compensation package to 168 project-affected persons along the company’s natural gas pipeline Right of Way (ROW) in the Western Region.
[contextly_sidebar id=”mLV5kqF7lhEtXwoJ46Zai43ZtupmqcGX”]The payment which will take place on Monday, July 6 constitutes part of outstanding compensation to beneficiary farmers and property owners in communities along the 111-km ROW from Atuabo in the Ellembele District to Aboadze in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, and the 75-km lateral line from Essiama to Prestea, all in the Western Region.
Beneficiaries of Monday’s compensation package include individuals living within five communities.
They are Kikam, Akango, Abelebo, Ankajare and Assuawuah.
A total amount of GH₵1.5 million will be paid as part of the compensation package to the individuals whose crops and structures were destroyed to pave way for the Western Corridor Gas Development Gas Infrastructure Project.
Ghana Gas has already paid over GH₵20 million in compensation to beneficiaries since the inception of the project.
The venue for payment will be the Essiama Palace. Owners of affected structures are required to bring along valid government issued IDs, while claimants of crop compensation must come with the original Form Fs issued to them by the Lands Valuation Division during the exercise to enumerate the crops.
Payment will only be effected upon receipt of the document, which serves as evidence of the entitlement of claimants to the compensation.
