The general prices of foodstuffs in many of the major markets across the country dropped marginally, in the last one week.
In the last week of trading in the month of July, the price of tomatoes dipped by 3 percent, closing the week at an average price of GHS 10.60 pesewas.
A “medium size tomato tin” full of fresh tomatoes went for GHS 10.50 in Accra losing 4 percent, according to research by Esoko Ghana.
In Kumasi and Takoradi it lost 6 and 9 percentage points to close the week at GHS 5.20 and GHS 19.80 respectively.
Maize prices remained stable in most of the markets. An olunka of maize went up by 14 percent to close the week at GHS 5.20.
