Ahead of the annual Eid-ul Fitr celebrations in the country which has been set for Saturday, the Police have warned recalcitrant motorcyclists to be cautious on the streets.
[contextly_sidebar id=”ahOMGhFE1CanotiDH8m5pMe2ltbMfd9C”]Though the Police in a statement assured that they will provide adequate security during the celebration, they urged the motorcyclists to be moderate in during their jubilation.
“While assuring the public of its commitment to provide security, the Regional Police Command entreats all jubilant youth, particularly the Motor Cycling display riders” to be moderate in their celebrations, as the Police will not hesitate to foil activities intended or likely to breach the peace,” a statement from the Greater Accra Regional Police Command added.
The statement further stated that as part of the security measures, “Police patrols and presence shall be intensified at the Independence Square, the venue for the climax of the National Muslim prayers.”
“Also, security and road management strategies have also been oulined for various Muslim communities, where celebrations are highly concentrated especially, Nima, A-Lang, Zanbon Zongo and similar areas to ensure a peaceful and incident free Eid-ul-Fitr,” the statement added.
