The Deputy Minister of Health, Victor Bampoe is currently in a closed door meeting with the leaders of the 91 aggrieved junior doctors.
Some executives of the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) are also in the meeting.
About 35 junior doctors out of 91 on Monday thronged the premises of the CAGD to protest the non-payment of their salaries, which had not been paid them within the past 11 months.
This comes after several calls on authorities in the health sector and Accountant General’s office to have their salaries paid them yielded no results.
They have blamed Controller for the problem, but the CAGD, last Wednesday indicated that it cannot be entirely blamed for the problem.
Meanwhile the Police are threatening to charge the junior doctors with “unlawful gathering“ for assembling at the premises of the CAGD.
