All Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), and Coordinating Directors have been reminded that their continuous stay in office will depend on how they deliver on the set targets in their performance contract.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo made the statement during the signing of the performance contract by MMDCEs and Coordinating Directors in Accra.
Addressing the MMDCEs and the Directors, Afotey Agbo admitted that “there would be challenges in the implementation of the contract but our capacity to surmount them makes us stand out amongst others.”
According to him, since all the targets listed in the performance contract document were not put together by an outside body or person but rather, through a mutual agreement by the parties involved, it should be fairly easily to comply.
The Minister however directed MMDCEs and Coordinating Directors at the various assemblies in the Greater Region to play active roles in the development of the nation.
He emphasised the need for a closer collaboration between the MMDCEs and Assemblies to achieve the said targets in the performance contract.
“Consequently, much is expected from all of us to put in our best to meet our targets and there is therefore the need to be supportive of each other towards the achievements of goals,” he said.
